Cast and Crew

Casey Axelson - Estrella Proxima

Casey is returning to the stage after a long hiatus. She was last seen in Cuckoo's Nest (Collin College). Casey is married, has a beautiful little girl, Ava, and works in the dental field full time. She is very excited to be getting back on the stage and is grateful to have worked with this cast and crew.



Blair Belt - Yugoslavian Cleaning Woman

Blair Belt grew up in Rockwall, Texas. After dancing most of her life, Blair slowly got involved with theatre because of her big sister, Brittnee. She later found the joy of singing and has been involved with it ever since. After graduation from Rockwall High School in 2010 as an International Honor Thespian, she continued her education where she currently studies at Collin College with a major in musical theatre. She currently works for the Frisco Rough Riders entertainment crew.



Annell Brodeur - Costume Designer

Annell Brodeur is a costume designer and soon to be graduate of the University of North Texas with a BA in Theater. She does work for theatre and film throughout the DFW area, most recently on Contemporary Theater of Dallas' production of True West. Other design credits include The Turn of the Screw for the UNT Opera, Danny In the Deep Blue Sea for Broken Gears Project Theater as well as work on various short films and music videos. She thanks her mother for her endless patience and thanks everyone else for all those little reasons.

Josh Culpepper - Brick Houseman / The Chief

Josh is very excited for another adventure with The Great White Way. He is originally from GA, and earned his B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from The Conservatory of Theatre and Dance at Webster University. Past favorite roles include Pippin in Pippin, Valentine in The Two Gentlemen of Verona, Curly in Oklahoma!, Jed in Fifth of July, and Charlie in Dirty Blonde. He is loving seeing Texas for the first time ever, and is grateful to Becky, David, and Joleen for this great opportunity.



Michael Gasparro - Edward Wright / Shark

Michael Gasparro, a North Texas native, was most recently seen in the area as one of Vernon's Boys in Theater Coppell's They're Playing Our Song. He has been singing since before he could talk and began to develop his love for musical theater at Coppell High School through his participation in both the theater and choir departments there. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Baylor University where he expanded his horizons by training as an Operatic Tenor and classical pianist. He currently teaches private voice lessons at Coppell High School, Faith Christian School, and the Texas Creative Arts Academy, and is a Music Director for Dallas Summer Musical Academy of Performing Arts. He also serves as the Music Minister for the Southern Methodist University Catholic Student Center and performs regularly in the Dallas area at venues such as Mama's Party at the Dallas Contemporary Theater, and at weddings and other private parties. Michael would like to thank David, Rebecca, and Peg for this wonderful opportunity and for writing such a fun part to play! He would also like to thank the cast and crew for such a fun and rewarding artistic experience.

Kevin Paul Hofeditz - Izzy Freeman / Doorman

Kevin Paul Hofeditz has been a Member of Actors' Equity Association since 1978 and is currently a Professor of Theatre, the Chair of the Division of Dance, and the Associate Dean for Student Affairs in SMU's Meadows School of the Arts. He began his university teaching career as an Assistant Professor of Theatre at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1983. In his fifteen years on the faculty at Nebraska, he held the positions of Head of the Professional Actor Training Program, Associate Dean of the College of Fine and Performing Arts, and Chair of the Department of Theatre Arts and Dance. He acted in 27 productions over 16 seasons (1983-1998) with the Nebraska Repertory Theatre, UNL's resident professional company, and served as its Executive and Artistic Director for its 1997 and 1998 seasons. Hofeditz's roles with The Rep include Marco the Magnificent in Carnival, Charlie Baker in The Foreigner, Tom in Table Manners, Ivor Fish in Rough Crossing, John Barrymore in I Hate Hamlet, Howard in The Closer, The Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance, and in a return engagement in the summer of 2007, David O. Selznick in Moonlight and Magnolias. Additional work as an actor during this time included performances with Missouri Repertory Theatre, Pennsylvania Centre Stage, and The Little Theatre on the Square in Sullivan, Illinois. In 1998, Hofeditz joined the SMU faculty as Professor and Chair of the Division of Theatre. He served as Division Chair through 2002 when he was appointed to the position of Associate Dean. Since coming to Dallas, his work on stage has included performances with WingSpan Theatre Company (Robert in Blind Date for the Festival of Independent Theatres), the Classical Acting Company (Ensemble in Mark Twain's Huck Finn and Dr. Finache in A Flea in Her Ear), the Shakespeare Festival of Dallas (Westmoreland in Henry IV and Alonso in The Tempest), and the Dallas Theater Center (Herr Fahrenkaupf in the Night of the Iguana). Hofeditz received his B.A. with High Honors in Theatre Performance from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and his M.F.A. in Acting/Directing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He participated in the Management Development Program of the Harvard Graduate School of Education (1995). He was inducted as a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi in 1982 and commissioned as an Admiral in The Great Navy of The State of Nebraska in 1998.



Esther James - Russian Cleaning Woman

Esther James was last seen in Michael Urie's Production of The Fantasticks where she played Luisa Bellamy. She is a former student of Brad Baker at Collin College and also did some choral work at St. Edward's University. It has been 10 years since Esther has performed in the theatre and she is extremely excited to have the opportunity to work on The Great White Way's first Stage Production. Esther would like to lovingly thank Stephen, her Husband, for all his support, and she is very grateful for all the support from her Family and Friends.



Mary Hannah McWilliams - Prostitute #1

Mary-Hannah McWilliams has thoroughly enjoyed being a part of The Great White Way! Some of her favorite credits include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Songs for a New World, The 25th Annual Bug Tussle Pageant Extravaganza (Tallulah Pooles). Currently completing high school, she plans to major in Musical Theatre in a couple years. She sends her love to her always supportive parents.



Alexis Nabors - Sandy Beach / First Victim

Alexis Nabors is thrilled to debut as Sandy Beach at this year's Out of the Loop Festival with WaterTower Theatre! Most recently you have seen her as Lois Lane in Graphic Novelties: Superman vs. Batman, Betty Foster in Santa Claus vs. the Martians, and a vampiress in Dracula: the Melodrama. Alexis is still pursuing some sort of arts degree, and has studied at UCO and Richland College. She loves the arts more than anything (besides makeup) and has truly enjoyed her journey to The Great White Way! She sends much love, glitter and sparkles to her Bad Idea Bears and her mom, Toodles.



Alexandra Naranjo - Usher #1

Alexandra Naranjo has taken voice for 4 years and has always been passionate about singing and acting. In the past she has played Olive Ovstrovsky in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Babette in Beauty and the Beast, Rusty in Footloose, and many more. She is very excited to be a part of this production and is happy to be surrounded by such a good and supportive group of people.



Taylor Nunn - Prostitute #2 / Sunny Meadow Understudy

Taylor Nunn is a freshman at Collin College in Plano. Singing and dancing have been huge passions ever since she was little. She has been involved in musical theatre for six years. She has performed in many shows including The Sound of Music, High School Musical, Robber Bridegroom, Beauty and the Beast, Footloose, and Spelling Bee. Taylor is very excited to be a part of The Great White Way. She would like to thank her family for all of their support for her passion and love of the arts.



Kimberly Pine - Usher #2

Kimberly Pine is excited to join the cast of The Great White Way. She is currently a member of the Glee apprentice group at Casa Manana Theater. Recent performances include The Fairy Godmother in Cinderella at Interlochen Arts summer camp, Tiger Lily in Peter Pan at FMPAT, Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz at Studio B, and other productions at her local high school. Thanks to God and family for their love and support.

Darius-Anthony Robinson - Tinker Bell / Cowboy

Darius-Anthony is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. Unlike Tinker, his character in The Great White Way, Mr. Robinson is still dancing! He has served as a principle and ensemble dancer for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Steps On Broadway in New York City and various dance troupes. Mr. Robinson is a dance teacher around the DFW metroplex with credits at KD Studio Conservatory, The Acting Studio and local dance workshops. His choreography commendations include: Curtains (Runway Theatre), Ragtime (JCC Players), Once Upon A Mattress (Runway Theatre), I Love A Piano (Artisan Center Theater), Urinetown: The Musical (Repertory Company Theater), and Broadway Revisited: A Broadway Revue (Malverone Players Theatre, NY, NY). Darius-Anthony was last seen as Trix the Aviatrix in The Drowsy Chaperone at Theatre Three, as well as Theatre Arlington and Theatre Three's production of 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee as Mitch Mahoney. Favorite roles include: Benny in Brookhaven Theatres' production of RENT, Tootie in Facts of Life: the Lost Episode with Uptown Players, and Ren McCormack in Footloose at Garland Civic Theatre. Regional Theatre credits include: Uptown Players, ICT, WaterTower Theatre, DCT, Casa Maņana, TA, DSM, GCT, Theatre Britain, T3, ACT, LifeStage Theatre. New York credits include: Malverone Players Theater (off-broadway), Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and the Westside Theatre.



Gabe Sanders - Nazi #2 / Izzy Freeman Understudy

Gabe is thrilled to be a part of the Ensemble in The Great White Way! He currently attends Collin College and hopes to attend Nursing School in the Fall. Gabe wishes to give many thanks to his family and for all their support throughout the years!



Brad Stephens - John Worth

Brad Stephens is delighted to work with this wonderful cast in this fantastic new musical. Brad is a University of North Texas graduate and studied Meisner technique under Terry Martin at WaterTower Theatre. A Column Award-winning actor, his favorite roles include Jekyll/Hyde in Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical; Curly McLain in Oklahoma!; Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing; Robert in Don't Dress For Dinner; Chris Keller in All My Sons; and an evil Paul McCartney in the award-winning short film, Ready Teddy. Brad is an Equity Member Candidate represented by Core Talent Agency and has been featured in commercials for Pepsi, Southwest Airlines and Joe's Crab Shack. Peg Waldschmidt - Director / Choreographer

Peg has been a Vocal Coach, Musical Theatre Director, Theatre Director, Accompanist and Choreographer since 1980. She has a Masters Degree in Music and a Minor in Theatre with specialties in Musical Theatre and has taught for over 25 years. Her students are currently featured in roles on Broadway, National Tours, Off Broadway, TV series, Cruise Lines, Theme Parks, and local artists in the Dallas area. Peg has personally performed professionally throughout the Midwest and Dallas area and continues to pursue her craft. Absolute Artiste is Peg's business and she has a passion for music and drama. Thanks to Rebecca and David for allowing me to stage this wonderful work and bravo to this talented cast.



Joleen Wilkinson - Sunny Meadow / The Chief's Wife / Topeka Johnson

Joleen is happy once again to be Sunny Meadow, a role which she has helped develop since the show's inception. She is also pleased to be back at "Out of the Loop", where she appeared last year as Mimi in Mimi at the 44th Parallel. NY credits include Song for a Future Generation, An American Werewolf in Equus, Mimi at the 44h Parallel, and Sex and the Boroughs. Regional credits include Dirty Blonde, Urinetown, The Importance of Being Earnest, The Sound of Music, and Kiss Me Kate. Joleen works weekly with Susan Lori Parks as a member of the acting company for her NYU class "Loving the Living Playwright". She maintains a private voice studio in Manhattan, and is also an instructor with the NY Jazz Workshop and Upbeat NYC, a nonprofit organization that provides music education to underserved communities throughout the five boroughs. Becky and David... there are no words to express my ongoing gratitude and amazement at your gifts! Can't wait til the next one!
